Series Rules:

Purpose of the .09 Series:

The purpose of this series is to provide exposure to nitro racing to a broad range of RC racers while providing the Series Racers a planned schedule of events that cover a wide verity of race tracks. It is the intent to keep the following rules simple but yet somewhat structured in an effort to have a clear separation between the two divisions (Limited and Pro) while allowing for close racing in both.

Series Rules:

DIVISIONS:

A LIMITED and a PRO Division will be provided. Drivers may run only one (1) division for the series. Once you start in a division you must remain in that division for the duration of the series. In the event that there are not enough Limited entries to form a class, they may run in the Pro but must still run the Limited rules. At the beginning of the following season, a driver may move up or remain in the Limited Division (the drivers choice) but once the next series starts he again must remain in that division for the duration of the series.

Limited Division: The gear ratio will be set but it will be done on a PER TRACK determination and will only vary in the size of the clutch bell gear; a 60 tooth spur will be run at all times. Weight for the Limited division will be 44 ounces full of fuel. Spec tires and the BLUE exhaust stinger are required.

Pro Division: will include an open gear ratio, open tires and the GOLD exhaust stinger. Weight for the Pro division will be 44 ounces full of fuel.

Both Divisions:

Bodies: Both classes will run NASCAR type bodies only. Full cut out rear section is allowed but keep the body profile in tact. Rear window cut outs for head cooling and glow plug access plus left side glass cut outs for fueling are allowed. An opening in the front windshield (no larger than 3 square inches) and/or right side glass to access a device for fuel tank lid opening is also allowed.

Points:

Series points for both divisions will be awarded as follows:
First place: 175 pts.
Positions 2 through 6 received 5 points less
Positions 7 through 11 received 4 points less than 6th
Positions 12 and lower received 3 points less than 11th
For reference, 2nd place received 170 pts, 7th place received 146 pts, and 12th received 127 pts.
Ties will be broken by the number of wins first. If there is a still a tie then the number of best finishes will be considered second.
Racers will be allowed one drop in the 6 race series.

Manufactures Points

Chassis Manufacturers will be awarded points as follows:
 9 Points for 1st, 6 for 2nd, 4 for 3rd, 3 for 4th, 2 for 5th, and 1 for 6th.

General Rules for Both Divisions:
* Any direct drive pan car (rear drive only) with strait axle. No independent front suspension.
* AP Hornet Engine only.
* NO engine or carburetor modifications (porting, polishing, drilling).
* Two shoe clutch only.
* Any “Blue” or “Gold” carburetor air filter adapter.
* Legal heads include: KSG, Bandit R/C, or a drilled .12 cooling head.
* Fuel will be White Lighting 20% Nitro content only and will be provided at the track for racing only.
* All cars must have a brake and a throttle return spring in place and properly functioning.
* Fuel tank will be limited to the Associated #7719 GT/NTC3 Fuel Tank. The #7721 tank insert is not required.
* Fuel Lines not to exceed 12 inches.
* No forced air systems.

Buy Out rule:

* A $60.00 engine (with cooling head and clutch removed) buy-out will be in place for all races.

Protest:

* A $15.00 protest fee must be submitted in writing to the race director and must detail what is to be protested. If found legal the racer protested will keep the $15.00. If illegal the racer is disqualified and the protest fee returned.

Any protest must be filed before the next heat race or 10 minutes following the Main.
